About Altinkum

Altinkum is a very popular and well established friendly beach resort, where many visitors return time and time again. The name Altinkum literally translates to mean "Golden Sand" and this resort certainly lives up to its name. It has beautiful wide sandy beaches that shelve gently into the clear blue, warm Aegean sea, making the perfect relaxing beach holiday for both couples and families of all ages. Altinkum is split into three principal 'beach' areas - Main beach which is a blue flag beach, Second and Third Beaches are close by.
At night, when the sun goes down, Altinkum becomes a lively place with a good choice of bars, discos and entertainment for all the family. The variety of nightlife allows you to do as little or as much as you like. If clubbing is not your scene, there are many bars and restaurants which offer a fabulous choice of food and drinks allowing you to spend the evening soaking up the atmosphere.
Eating Out
There's a great choice of restaurants in the resort centre, offering everything from traditional Turkish delights to international favourites. If you prefer a light snack, there are numerous cafes serving all kinds of tasty treats.
Shopping
Altinkum has a well establised tourist infrastructure with banks, post office, chemists etc. There is also an excellent selection of shops in the town where you can buy clothes and jewellery, gifts and of course Turkey's infamous leather produce and ceramics.
Sightseeing & Attractions
If sightseeing is on your agenda, then Altinkum is the resort for you. Frequent local mini-bus (Dolmus) runs through the resort and onto the famous attraction of Didyma - home to many historical sites including the Temple Of Apollo. Travel a little further and discover the ancient city of Ephesus. Here you can visit the Temple of Artemis - Goddess of Fertility, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, where you can lose yourself in this historic playground.
Altinkum Aqua Park - Altinkum has it's very own Aqua Park only 15 minutes drive from the main resort. The water park was built in 2004 and has proved to be popular with English tourists. It's well worth a visit.
